Highly doubtful. Firstly, there doesn’t seem to be any advantage to already existing systems and features like ASR and traffic monitoring are very unlikely to work reliably on such a platform. This looks like a scam to me…

lol so true. Using cellphone as a GPS device on an A8! Come’on that’s totally wrong choice of car for the target audience of this service. Find a lower end car dudes.

It shows a very simple thing. You cannot use the Auto A8 LBS system if you don’t want to get lost. You need to use Telenav.

Does anyone know if this can do pedestrian routes too, or just driving?

This is very simular to VZ Navigator. I can just download the VZ Navigator app under Verizon Wireless’s Get It Now’s Get Going section.

    7. PocketRebel says:

did anyone answer this? Didn’t see. You can change it to pedestrian mode. I haven’t done it, so I don’t know if it’s any good, but it’s there.

this ad is so scam telenav can never work as this clip shows it’s slow (45~60 secs loading), when you miss a trun it takes another minute to re-calculate, the traffic info sometime is so old (once it was telling me an accident 4 hours old), not to mension you need to pay 10 a month AND data service from your service provider which is normally another 40 bucks. 50 bucks for this??? i rather buy a gps system.

This is not exactly meant to “replace” a stand alone GPS unit, however in most areas that have very good cell reception it is just as good as most sub $500 GPS’s.
I have it on a Motorola Z9 phone and it works exactly as advertised.
It also has MORE POI locations by far and does a decent job of letting you know about traffic up ahead.
If you put this on a Crackberry 9000 or the Z9 it is virtually as good as any regular GPS unit especially if its something you only use once in awhile.
