Have you tried to purchase topo maps and put them on an SD card and get it to work? Have you used it in navigation mode in Canada? I tried loading maps that I purchased online and they did not work and I get no refund.

    WARNING
Do not purchase a Magellan. The customer service is very poor. Check the internet for reviews.

The crossover is great for turn by turn directions

However, for outdoor use it is not very good.

It’s maps are out dated and do not provide much detail. If you are hiking it would be good to know the names of the trails, bodies of water, etc. However this unit does not provide them.

You are also very limited in what additional maps you can use. Any maps you do purchase must be loaded via a SD Card and most of the time they do not work correctly

For outdoor use I suggest using another GPS
