Five Reasons to Purchase – the Garmin GPSMap 76CS & CSx

The Garmin GPS 76 has one of the brightest, clearest sunlight-readable screens available due to the latest colour-display technology. Combine this with the fastest and most precise fix of your location available, due to the powerful microprocessors and up to date receivers installed. Also included on the Garmin GPSMap is an electronic compass that is built in and a barometric altimeter.

To further increase the accuracy of the device to fix a location to within 3 metres, the device is WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) ready. By keeping the general styling of the unit and keypad, the Garmin GPS 76CS is kept securely in the 76 series family. If you wish to upgrade the basic maps of the device, and I suggest you probably will to get the maximum use, you will need to purchase a microSD card as the on-board memory of 115MB will be not enough.

So what is so beneficial about the Garmin GPS 76, well here are five good points to be going on with:

It has one of the brightest screens on the market and is 2.6 inch and in full colour. The screen, even in bright sunlight, is really clear and will show the smallest detail.

Your position will be perfectly plotted and retained even in the most difficult of terrain or conditions, due to the high sensitivity GPS receiver. Whether you are in deep canyons, in the most built up of cities, or surrounded by trees you will always have a true fix of your location.

Using microSD cards that are pre-loaded with advanced charts and maps, you can simply and rapidly switch from chart to map and back. Some of the maps available are, MapSource Topo and inland lake maps, BlueChart marine cartography, and City Navigator street maps.

This device from the 76 series, the Garmin GPS 76CS are all enormously strong and waterproof. You can be definite that regardless of the terrain or the weather, this device will perform to the highest standards.

You will rapidly discover that this is not just another satellite navigation device with all the additional tools built in. The built-in electronic compass will supply you with a read out of your heading. The barometric altimeter will track changes in atmospheric pressure that will help pinpoint your precise altitude. This barometric altimeter can also give you a continuous readout of the changing ambient and barometric pressures to determine any changes in the weather that may occur in the near future.

From this you can see that the Garmin GPSMap can do a lot more than just pointing you in the right direction. It is a complete travel companion, one you can take with you no matter what the weather or terrain.

  2. I’ve always heard about Garmin products and how great they are. I don’t really find the need to get a separate GPS system in my car, simply because I have one on my phone. However, my cousin is moving here for a few months, and I’m sure he’d really appreciate one in his truck. Plus, I’m horrible at giving directions myself.
