Can I Put a GPS Navigation System in My Old Toyota?

I have a Toyota Camry from the early 90′s. It has a cigarette lighter entry and I was wondering if GPS systems like the Garmin Nuvi or TomTom can work in my car.
The GPS my dad has is portable and he can take it anywhere he wants. The actual part in it that tells where to go is not in the car but in the unit itself, so you can put it in the car. There is a charger that’s for the cigarette lighter but the gps itself doesn’t attach to anything permanently. He has a Tomtom.
yes.
sure! all you need the lighter for is to recharge the GPS.
